Special Notice
The girls in both the Intermediate/Advanced and the Advanced Camps will have the opportunity to compete in a
“real” horse show, the SSHBEA Sport Horse Event, which is being held at the Bar Fifty® Ranch on July 4th week-
end. They will also be able to compete in the competition trail ride on Saturday.
The classes in this show will include an obstacle course, reining, speed barrels, gaited barrels, speed poles, gaited
poles, soggy barrels, soggy poles, key hole, turn & burn and western jumping. Time permitting, there will also be egg
& spoon, boot scramble, pantie race, catalog race, egg toss, musical buckets and broom polo.

The following is for the SSHBEA Sport horse show ONLY !
 All children under 11 must wear a helmet.
 If the child is riding their personal horse, 11 & under still must wear a helmet, mom & dad, it’s up to you if the child
is 12 or older (again, only riding a personal horse)
 If the child is riding a Bar Fifty® Horse, all children 16 & under must wear a helmet.

Entry fees for this show are NOT included in the camp tuition. Entry fees per class $5

Parental release forms for this show must be signed the day of the show. A parent or guardian must be present for
the children to compete in this show.

Children in the advanced camp can come in early in order to compete in this horse show.
(camping or lodging for the extra days must be arranged with the Bar Fifty® in advance)


Camp Level Descriptions

New Beginner Camp - This camp is for children with very little or no experience with horses. Children will be
restricted to walking on the horses unless otherwise directed by the Camp Director. This camp will focus on learning
the basics of proper riding, basic horse care, basic tack upkeep.

Beginner / Intermediate Camp - This camp is for children who have been around horses, and maybe gone on a few
trail rides, but would like to improve their riding skills, and become familiar with the daily aspects of horses. This
camp will focus on achieving intermediate camp riding abilities, with pattern riding, team work maneuvers, second
level horse care,

Intermediate Camp - This camp is for children with some riding experience, who are capable of controlling their
horse at a trot or equivalent gait. Children will be restricted to a trot or equivalent gait unless otherwise directed
by the Camp Director. This camp will focus on second level riding, learning collection, ring maneuvers, more advanced
horse care, basic medical care.

Intermediate/Advanced Camp - This camp is for children with good riding experience, who are capable of
controlling their horse at a canter. Children will be restricted to a canter unless otherwise directed by the Camp
Director. This camp will focus on high second level and the beginning of advanced level riding, learning the uses of
collection, advanced ring maneuvers, more advanced horse care and basic medical care. This camp is best for kids
that want to go faster, but are not yet ready for serious speed or concentrated ring maneuvers.

Advanced Camp - This camp is for children with strong riding experience, who are capable of controlling their
horse at the canter or lope. Children will be permitted to canter or lope their horses in controlled situations. This
camp will focus on advanced level riding, learning dressage maneuvers, reining patterns, bareback riding, and drill
team maneuvers, along with professional horse care (show horses) and basic veterinary care.

Payment Terms & Cancellation Policy

A $50 deposit, postmarked by April 1, 2011, is required for each participant.

2011 Summer Camp Session fee - $500
Tuition includes Room & Board, Horseback Riding & Lessons,
Use of Sports equipment and pool, All Craft supplies, 24 hour supervision.
Tuition does NOT include sales tax, medical insurance, T-Shirts, Caps, Pictures,
Camp Store purchases, or transportation to and from camp.

Balance of Fees are due no later than May 15, 2011

No refunds after May 1st, late cancellation fees may be applied to a later session.

No reductions or refunds made for late arrivals, withdrawals or dismissals of participants.

Participants staying longer than their assigned session will be charged a rate of $50 for each additional day.

Private horses permitted
Prior arrangements required, minimum of 2 weeks before starting date of camp session.

RULES
No Cell Phones
No phone calls except for emergencies
Keep care packages to a minimum
No valuables (jewelry, etc.)
All spending money is to be turned in to the office upon arrival
No personal radios, cd/tape players of any type
No gameboys/playstations, etc.
Participants may bring DVD or VCR movies, G or PG rated only
Camp Director reserves the right to approve all movies
No fighting or arguing
All directives given by Camp Director, Assistant, Host or Hostess must be followed as directed

While working with the horses (on the ground or riding) absolutely ALL instructions given by the Camp Director or
Assistant will be followed immediately, NO deviations from this rule will be tolerated.

Notice

Bar Fifty® Ranch reserves the right to dismiss any participant who,
in the camp director's opinion, is disruptive to the best interests of the camp session.

*Bar Fifty Ranch Hosts a few "real" horse shows through the summer, if one is scheduled the ending week-end of
your child's camp and they wish to compete, the Camp Director will be present (and competing) for the entire show,
and the children from the summer camp can ride the horse they used during summer camp in the horse show. These
shows are separate from the camp show, and additional funds for entry fees are required.
